Informed Sport joins forces with sports nutrition awards ceremony, ESSNawards

ESSNA Awards

Informed Sport has been announced as an official sponsor of the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Awards 2020. Now in its second year, the ESSNawards attracts sports nutrition brands, companies and individuals from across Europe to celebrate the sector’s expansion and prosperity.

Informed Sport, which forms part of the wider LGC Group, is a certification and testing programme for sports supplements. It assures athletes that every batch of a product carrying the Informed Sport mark has been tested for substances prohibited in sport, and ensures that products have been manufactured to high quality standards.

Last year, over 100 attendees, from 15 different countries, got together to celebrate 12 awards winners, beating over 40 other sports nutrition brands who entered into the awards.

This year, the ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday 10th December 2020 in a new venue: a global epicentre of prestigious sporting events, the Stade de France in Paris.

Adam Carey, Chair of ESSNA, said “We are thrilled to welcome Informed Sport on board as a supporter for the ESSNawards.

“Informed Sport and LGC reflect the highest of standards that we strive to uphold in the sports nutrition industry here at ESSNA. We are honoured that such a credible and respected organisation within the industry is joining the ESSNawards, the only dedicated awards ceremony for brands and companies in the sports nutrition sector.”

Terence O’Rorke, Informed Sport Business Development Manager, EMEA Asia, said “We are very pleased to be sponsoring the ESSNawards, and collaborating with ESSNA and many of the leading brands from across Europe. We look forward to supporting an event that showcases the very best of the European sports nutrition industry.”

Delivered by the ESSNA – a forum for discussion and a vehicle for action for the sports nutrition sector – the ESSNawards gives brands, organisations and ambassadors in the sports nutrition industry an opportunity to gain recognition for their contributions to the sector.

This year, four new categories have been added, including best protein bar, best energy drink and sports nutrition in lockdown, as well as a new cohort of judges, competitions, and sponsors.

ESSNA adds that ‘sponsoring the ESSNawards provides a business with the opportunity to enhance its profile, communicate to its target audience and interact with sports nutrition professionals including nutritionists, journalists, practitioners, and sportspeople.’
